The first issue of Slingshot is a fictional student’s diary featuring a series of satirical poems and caricatures depicting a typical day at school.

The third caricature in the series depicts the Latin lesson. Exhausted at this point, the students sleep on their desks. Who would have dared, the poet asks, to behave this way in years gone by? Nevertheless, the lecturer doesn’t mind: he stands at his podium and lectures for no one, just to kill an hour with the students and keep the director happy.
